On my marks for the big return

Photographers have been hit hard during the Corona lockdown, the majority of us are freelance workers so we were considered the least essential of the non-essentials. During the hiatus I’ve been learning new skills, evaluating business strategies and trying to stay sane. As it looks like a return to some sort of ‘New’ normal, I thought it was time to book in a test shoot and refresh areas of my photography portfolio that most needed it.

This past week I got together with Matt Peacock at Boss Model Management in Manchester and shot some lifestyle fitness photography. We were fortunate enough to choose the hottest day of the year so far which gave us bright sunshine and warm temperatures, I enjoy shooting in bright sunshine even though it can be challenging exposing highlights and shadows.

Matt is an experienced athletic model and suits this genre of photography well, he’s often a popular choice for Manchester fitness photographers. The shots we decided to produce were natural looking lifestyle images as well as some sports portraits – these type of shots would be perfect for the brands such as JD Sports, FootAsylum or Go Outdoors.
